President and Founder
John R. James is the President/Founder of Special Solutions and a Licensed Advocate with Protected Tomorrows®. He has been serving individuals and business owners for over 40 years in the financial services industry. In the Life Planning process, His mission is to assist families with special needs children or adults by adding order to a chaotic stressful situation and a renewed level of hope. Recently he acquired the designation as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst or CDFA™ for the purpose of providing his unique skills and information to couples in the process of divorce.
During this time, among other experiences, he has been involved with a regional non-profit foundation, both as a board member and as the interim Executive Director.
Through this involvement he gained experience in planned giving, endowments, and estate and care planning for individuals.
John and his staff have committed themselves to delivering an extremely high level of service, much like a concierge in a five-star hotel. The diversity of John’s experience has prepared him well to service the various needs of his clients.

Protected Tomorrows® was developed by financial planner Mary Anne Ehlert, whose sister Marcia was born with cerebral palsy.
